Emergency First Aid at Work Short Course
This one day course is designed for people who want to receive training in emergency first aid and is especially suited for nominated first aiders in smaller, low risk working environments.
The content of this course provides basic lifesaving first aid and workplace health and safety regulations, covering the following:
- Health and safety (first aid) regulations;
- Managing an incident;
- The priorities of first aid;
- Treatment of an unconscious casualty;
- Common workplace injuries.
This course is ideal for low hazard environments such as offices, shops and libraries.
You will be trained and assessed by one trainer/assessor and assessment will take place through observation along with some written exercises rather than by an examination.
The course is held at the St Helens College, Town Centre Campus between 9.00am - 4.30pm.
Discrete dates can be set for employer groups - please call 01744 623344 to arrange.
Learners are now both trained and assessed by one expert trainer/assessor whilst the course is progressing and not by using a separate examination at the end.
This assessment will be through observation along with some written exercises. Ideally candidates will have a basic command of English.
