IOSH - Managing Safely
The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) has revised the Managing Safely course to address the safety and health training needs of the non-expert. The course is designed to help supervisors, line managers and senior managers from all types of organisations meet their health and safety obligations.
The course gives an overview on why health and safety is such a vital part of any organisation and will give you an insight into how to deal with health and safety issues that could arise.
When will I start the course and how long will it take?
This course has start dates throughout the year.
You will attend College one day per week from 9.00am - 4.00pm for three weeks.
If required, we are able to set discrete dates for employers upon request.
What will I study?
Managing safely is a flexible course for managers and supervisors in any sector and in any organisation. It brings managers up to speed on the practical actions they need to take to handle health and safety in their teams. Managing safely will not turn you into a health and safety expert - but it will give you the knowledge and tools to tackle the health and safety issues you are responsible for. Importantly - it brings home why health and safety is such an essential part of their job.
Modules covered include:
- Introducing working safely
- Defining hazard and risk
- Identifying common hazards
- Protecting our environment
- Improving safety performance
How is it assessed?
Assessment is in the form of multi-format questions and a risk assessment project.
What are the course fees?
The total cost of this course is £450.
What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?
Upon completion of this course, you could choose to progress one of our many other health and safety courses including NEBOSH General Certificate or NEBOSH Diploma.
