Level 3 First Aid at Work
This level 3 in First Aid at Work is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification, specifically designed for those who are appointed to act as a first aider in their workplace. It is also ideal for people who have a specific responsibility to provide first aid in voluntary and community activities.
This comprehensive course ensures that you meet recommendations underlined by the Health and Safety regulations and will provide you with the skills, knowledge and confidence to use what you have learned in a real emergency situation within the workplace.
The course provides students with the first aid training needed to deal with a range of first aid situations as well as the ability to demonstrate the practical administration of safe, prompt and effective first aid along with an understanding of the role of the first aider.
When will I start the course and how long will it take?
This course has various delivery dates throughout the year. The course takes 3 consecutive days to complete.
This course will be delivered at Northern Logistics Academy's dedicated training centre in St Helens (Langtree Street, St Helens WA9 1AR).
What will I study?
You will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of first aid situations, including; assessing an incident, managing an unresponsive casualty, CPR, heart attacks, choking, head and spinal injuries, fractures, anaphylaxis and more.
You will also study:

- Examining a casualty
- Conscious/unconscious casualties
- Treating a casualty
- Further emergency action
- General common illnesses
- Basic life support
- First Aid Kits/equipment
How is it assessed?
There will be practical based assessments plus a written and verbal examination.
What are the course fees?
The total cost of this course is £195 per person.
What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?
Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a Qualsafe level 3 qualification in First Aid. This course complies with HSE First Aid Regulations of 1981.
If you wish to pursue a career as Health and Safety practitioner, you could choose to progress on to our IOSH and NEBOSH courses.
