Short Course in Printmaking

Our Short Course in Printmaking will introduce you to basic Printmaking processes. The course will help you to develop your drawing skills, creative thinking, personal visual language and printing processes.

The course is perfect for beginners but may also appeal to those who have some previous experience in art and design.

This course has start dates throughout the year and will take 10 weeks to complete.

The course takes at St Helens College, Town Centre Campus, St Helens, WA10 1PP.

What will I study?

Using a range of drawing media, we will look at approaches to observational drawing and mark-making to use as a starting point to then develop small prints using mono-printing and relief printing techniques or / and intaglio printing techniques. Other starting points can be discussed with the tutor. Presentation techniques will also be discussed and demonstrated to display your artwork.

You will study alongside like-minded people in classes delivered by friendly supportive tutors.

 

How is it assessed?

There is no formal assessment. You will be given feedback based on your progress with suggestions and guidance for areas for improvement.


Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?

There are no formal entry requirements. As with all our leisure courses the main emphasis is to come along and enjoy the course. All you need is commitment and enthusiasm.

The total cost of the course is £130.00.
