Would you like to learn more about chocolate and how to work with it? Our Simply Chocolate course will show you how to master the techniques of working with the ultimate comfort food.
Under expert guidance from our highly skilled and gifted chefs, you'll learn the principles of chocolate tempering and have a go at the various methods you can use at home, including using a marble slab, tempering chocolate in the microwave and the seeding method. You will also discover how to create several chocolate based desserts.
This course is perfect for the absolute beginner, through to chocolate enthusiasts. It will also make the perfect gift for the chocoholic!
When will I start the course and how long will it take?
This course will commence on Thursday 9th May 2019. You will attend every Thursday for four weeks from 6.00pm - 9.00pm.
The course takes place at St Helens College, Town Centre Campus, St Helens WA10 1PP.
What will I study?
During the course you will discover how to temper chocolate and create chocolate desserts, moulded chocolates, decorations and finishes.
You will study alongside like-minded people in classes delivered by friendly supportive tutors.
How is it assessed?
There is no formal assessment. You will be given feedback based on your progress with suggestions and guidance for areas for improvement.
As with all our leisure courses the main emphasis is to come along and enjoy the course.
Do I need any previous qualifications to start this course?
There are no formal entry requirements.
Please bring along a container to take what you have made home with you.
What are the course fees?
The total cost of this course is £120. The course price is inclusive of all of the ingredients that you will need for each session.
What can I go on to do once I have completed this course?
Upon completion, you will have developed confidence to recreate the skills you have learned in working with chocolate in your own kitchen.
