This interesting course is perfect for anyone who might be considering a possible career in pastry and confectionery or if you have a taste for indulgence. If you're maybe thinking of starting your own business, wanting to up-skill or would just love to learn how to prepare some fantastic pastry products, make your own bread or create some delicious hot and cold puddings then this course would be excellent for you.

During this four week course you will build up the necessary skills needed to become a confectioner or pastry cook by producing some intricate and predominantly sweet products.

What will I study? 

This course will help you learn about the art and skills in pastry and confectionery. The beauty of this course is that it centres on the practical craft aspects of learning the art of making fine pastry and dough products. You will also learn the skills in preparing and cooking hot and cold desserts to the highest of standards. This course is taught by Professionals and you will have the opportunity to train in first class facilities which will certainly give you the edge in producing an array of tasty pastry goods. Some of the tempting goods may include:

  • Hot and cold desserts and puddings
  • Biscuit, cake and sponge products
  • Pastry products using short, sweet and Puff pastry
  • Homemade breads  

Entry to the Programme

There are no formal entry requirements. All you will need is commitment and enthusiasm. As with all our leisure cookery courses the main emphasis is to come along and enjoy.  

The total cost of the course is £120.00. The course price is inclusive of all of the ingredients that you will need for each session. You can take home your creations to enjoy.

When will I start the Programme?

This course will start on Thursday 12th October 2017. You will attend college for four weeks every Thursday evening from 6.00pm – 9.00pm.
